Choosing Utah is also a story about a self-reliance experiment. An experiment to achieve upward mobility in life without relying from family, friends, and government. From failed plans and prior solo travels to apartment-searching and job-hunting, the author shares what he thinks he pioneered - at least among the people he knows - as a Filipino immigrant.
